Open Season… Techno

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

- Over at CrunchGear, I noticed the video release of Open Season, and yet that’s not what was important. As much as I would not like to overshadow interest releases or launches, this particular item rolls into another topic all together. Maybe because I have more of a preference towards Nintendo, but the battle between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD has become completely insane. While I am all for new development and technology, the time spans on the here and now are becoming far too short. I remember that the VHS had about a fifteen year ride as the major source of home entertainment. However, the DVD has yet to pass a completely decade?? Already, we have two, top flight formats, trying to beat the other to the finishline, and yet neither has looked back to try to include a cross-compatibility for our current version of entertainment. As an average consumer, who would want to shell out hundreds of dollars for the specialized player, that only plays specialized discs, that only works the best with a specialized television, which cost three times the player?!? At the rate of this technology, the average consumer will not be able to afford one item in this futuristic entertainment battle until way into the future itself… Plus, I just finished tracking down everything past and present, on DVD… just try and make me switch!! Yep, electronically… it is open season!!

Everybody Was Kung Fu Dining…

http://duzty.com/pictures/ninja.gif- If there was only one reason to go to New York, this restaurant would be the greatest reason. Ninja New York is the ultimate experience in dining… once you enter, ninjas drop down from the ceiling to seat your party! Some of the cuisines require extracting katanas from your food! When you check out the video over at YouTube, you will also notice that the ninjas will threaten to slit your throat if you do not tip well… I can’t wait to go!!

- Honestly, does any child need this term redefined? Well, companies like Sparkability and Rotofugi are selling a series of plush dolls… The Troglodytes. Yeah, they are cute… but no, they are not cheap. At a whopping $80 a pop, you can have a little pastel demon in your home, to warm your heart. Well Jill Penny… they’re no cavemen, but your idea rocks!!

No Such Thing as Five More Minutes…

Puzzle Alarm Clock- Whenever I get up in the morning, I can just barely get through that first hour of the day, trying to achieve some type of accomplishment. This clock would not work well with me. The Puzzle Alarm Clock has four puzzle pieces that pop off the top when the alarm rings. The trouble with that is you cannot shut this click down until you complete the puzzle… WTF? I can barely struggle down a flight of stairs half alive!I would probably just unplug the thing and toss it across the room for my own amusement. Wait… I can’t do that, it’s battery operated. Damn… At least something like Clocky would amuse me a little… and not create alarm clock projectile…
