Wanted to take this opportunity to firstly thank all of the great artists that have contributed Mojis during our early, early beta phase and to share with you some of the “big picture” at Mojizu.com.
The rate at which we are gaining new members and Mojis on the site is growing daily!
As you know, when we launched a few weeks ago there was a lot of “coming soon” on the site. We have been slowly but surely taking down the “coming soon” signs and rolling out functionality. We just opened the artist’s store, and will have our forum up next week. The limited edition store will also launch next week.
Currently all Moji’s first go into the “Fresh” section where they get some face time on the home page. From here, the hottest Moji’s are moved to the “Hottest” gallery – where they get a lot more face time on the home page. Currently, this is done manually by the esteemed Moji Judging Committee (founding artists here at Moji).
Shortly, (in the next few weeks) our brilliant programmers will deliver the “system”. Once the system is in place, Mojis will move from Fresh gallery to Hottest Gallery automatically based on their popular vote (more on the exact formula for this later). The most popular 32 Mojis will be moved into Hottest section each week.
In addition, we will be launching the Moji War competition on May 1st. Each week the most popular 16 Mojis in the Hottest section get automatically entered into the War where the Mojis square off with another Moji and users get to vote on their favorite. Each week’s winners get moved to the next round, and each week there will be a grand winner.
Cash prizes and invitations to participate in our limited edition Moji store are just some of the things that the top Mojis in this competition will receive every week. We will post rules for the competitions soon.
Unlike other sites, when you win exposure, cash and merchandising rights on Moji, you are not giving up any exclusive rights to your work. We want to expose your work to the widest possible audience so that you can generate revenue from merchandise, prizes and also attract commercial customers to your work if this is what you want (in which case they contact you directly – Mojizu is not involved in this). As we grow our user base and launch additional revenue opportunities (i.e. MojiMobile), the more content you have on the site, the better you can do.
Remember to tell all your friends, family and associates to vote on your work on the site. Also, remember, when you add a new Moji, it helps to keep all of your other Mojis exposed to our new visitors because they see them in the Moji Viewer for the new Moji.
Please also keep all the great feedback coming.
